# Tokens

Use the token selector on the [**Swap**](https://dedust.io/swap) page to find tokens, import a token by its contract address, manage Favorites, and open detailed token information.

You can search by:

* token name;
* ticker symbol;
* smart contract address.

Tokens can have identical names and symbols. Always verify the contract address before trading an unfamiliar token.

### Verified and imported tokens

Verified tokens appear in DeDust search by name or ticker and have a [verification](/en/launch/verification.md) checkmark. Verification confirms that the contract represents the intended project and helps distinguish it from copies using the same name or logo.

> **Important:** Verification confirms the token's identity, not its quality or safety. It means that the displayed contract belongs to the token it claims to represent rather than impersonating another project. It does not guarantee that the token will increase in value, retain its current price, remain liquid, or that its creators will act honestly. A verified project can still fail or turn out to be a scam. Always do your own research before trading.

An **imported token** is a token you add manually by its smart contract address. Importing makes the token available in your own token selector, but does not verify it or confirm that it is safe.

> **Important:** Get the contract address from the project's official sources. Anyone can create a token with a familiar name, ticker, or image. DeDust cannot recover funds lost after trading the wrong or malicious contract.

### How to import a token

If a token does not appear in search by name or ticker:

1. Open the token selector on the **Swap** page.
2. Paste the token's smart contract address into the **Search** field.
3. Check the token details and contract address carefully.
4. Confirm the import only if you understand and accept the risks.

The imported token is saved only in the current browser on the current device. This also applies to wallet browsers and the DeDust Telegram Mini App. Importing the same token on another device or in another browser must be done separately.

Imported tokens may contain custom smart-contract behavior, including transfer taxes. DeDust may not recognize or display these risks for a newly imported token.

### Favorite tokens

Add frequently used tokens to Favorites to keep them at the top of the token selector.

To add a token:

1. Open the token selector on **Swap**.
2. Select the `…` menu next to the token.
3. Select **Add to favorites**.

To remove a token, select the `×` next to its ticker in the Favorites row, or open the `…` menu and select **Remove from favorites**.

You can collapse or expand the Favorites row using the arrow on its right side. Your Favorites remain in place when token balances or the order of the main token list changes.

Favorites are saved only in the current browser on the current device, including wallet browsers and the Telegram Mini App.

### Token information and price charts

To open detailed information about a token from **Swap**:

1. Open the token selector.
2. Select the `…` menu next to the token.
3. Select **About the coin**.

The [Coin summary page](/en/analytics/coins.md) includes the token's price chart, key market metrics, contract information, and other available data.

You can also open the same page by selecting a token in [**Portfolio**](/en/analytics/portfolio.md) or finding it in **Coins**.

### Tokens with tax

Some token contracts charge an additional fee when the token is bought, sold, or transferred. DeDust cannot remove or reduce a fee enforced by the token's smart contract.

Trading recognized tokens with tax is disabled by default and requires a separate setting. Unknown imported tokens may charge a tax without displaying a DeDust warning.

Before trading one, read [Tokens with tax](https://help.dedust.io/en/trade/tokens/tax), including the important limitation of **Min. receive** for taxed tokens.
